At Trust A Trader, we are committed to helping our customers to find traders that they can rely on, free from the anxiety that they may be dealing with a rogue trader. To make it easier than ever for our customers to find traders that operate to high standards, we encourage the companies and tradespeople listed in our directory to become affiliated with relevant professional bodies, such as the British Wood Preserving and Damp Proofing Association.
The British Wood Preserving and Damp Proofing Association was created to encourage best practice in the industry of wood preservation and damp proofing. However, it recently merged with two alternative independent professional organisations: The Property Care Association and the Wood Protection Association. This means that traders previously affiliated with the British Wood Preserving and Damp Proofing Association who offer services relating to damp, timber preservation, the control of wet and dry rot, underground waterproofing, structural repair, flood repair and protection, weed control and insect control, are now guided by the best practices set out by the Property Care Association. Traders whose services include the supply and fitting of pre-treated timber, or preserving timber, are now linked with the Wood Protection Association.
