I purchased 11 units (one for each vent). They install in a snap & do a great job at sealing the vent. Much better than just closing the damper. No heat loss into the attic & no cold air coming out of the attic. Great! I already recommended these to a neighbor. Also, I researched quite a bit & Home Dept provided speedy delivery & had the best price. Thanks! Rated 2 out of 5 by Hermannvw from Sweats There is a lot of condensation on the cover so even though the draft situation is apparently solved, another issue arrised, so unless you put a plant under it as I did, you're gonna have to mop or wipe up the water that drips down constantly. Other than that, the plastic feels a bit flimsy, they could have made it a bit thicker so that it may insulate more and last longer considering the price. Easy to install though. I got it for a front porch that has a vent but jalousie windows and I guess the hot air isn't getting in but for the price I was hoping for something more heavy-duty. The plastic is very thin to the point that it can bend easily, and I'm not sure if this is the reason why the thing gets a lot of condensation, but they should have put some sort of insulation in the interior to prevent that. We have central air in the attic with ceiling vents and they were dripping once in awhile in the cold weather. After researching online, it's condensation because of the cold attic air and the warm home air. These types of shields were recommended and the ones here were the best value. They are super easy to install and did the trick 100%.
